you know how everything seems so surreal and it takes just ONE THING to change your point of view completely? you know how you take a person for granted or you only notice them once they're gone? you know how when something happens, it takes quite a while for it to JUST SINK IN? you know how even if it's a band you don't know, you CARE if their lead guitarist passes on? R.I.P CASEY CALVERT 1981 - 2007, rhythm guitarist of hawthorne heights, a thoughtful friend and a loving husband. Message from the Band
Today is probably the worst day ever. Its with our deepest regrets that we have to write this. Casey Calvert passed away in his sleep last night. We found out this afternoon before sound-check. We've spent the entire day trying to come to grips with this and figure out as much as possible. At this time we're not sure what exactly happened. Just last night he was joking around with everyone before he went to bed. We can say with absolute certainty that he was not doing anything illegal. Please, out of respect to Casey and his family, don't contribute or succumb to any gossip you may hear. We don't want his memory to be tainted in the least. Casey was our best friend. He was quirky and awesome and there will truly be no others like him! His loss is unexplainable. As soon as we know more we will let you know.

please be strong guys. i know casey would have wanted it that way. it's amazing how ONE THING can bring to you the harsh reality of things. how fragile a life is. how you should treasure every person you'll ever meet or how every moment you get with a loved one will never come back. you have to treasure today. treasure every one around you. be respectful and be thoughtful. every single mintue you waste is a minute you'll never get back. with that, all i can say is. REST IN PEACE CASEY. YOU ARE LOVED AND WILL BE FOREVERMORE. and deepest condolences to his family and the band and every one who he meant something to (which should be EVERYONE). you are missed. i wish hawthorne heights all the best. they'll get through this. i have faith. LEARN FROM THIS AND CASEY WOULD NOT HAVE DIED IN VAIN. grow from this. i may not know him personally but i know that this is a wake-up call to everyone. please be respectful and not taint his memory.
